Foreign Language Teaching Assistant Program (FLTA)

We are pleased to announce the competition for the 2018 Foreign Language Teaching Assistant (FLTA) Program which provides an opportunity for young, international teachers of English to refine their teaching skill, increase their English language proficiency and extend their knowledge of cultures and customs of the United States while engaging in non-degree studies.  FLTAs add an energetic and up-to-date cultural component to foreign language classes as well as to student life on U.S. campuses.  This interaction makes studying and languages much more meaningful and real


The deadline for online application is Thursday, June 15, 2017 


ABOUT THE PROGRAM

The nine-month non degree Program provides an opportunity for Thai young teachers of English to refine their teaching skills, increase their English language proficiency and extend their knowledge of the cultures and customs of the United States while strengthening the instructions of the Thai language at U.S. higher education institutions.


PROGRAM ANNOUNCEMENT

March-June


PROELIGIBILITY

  1. Be a Thai citizen in good health
  2. Be a teacher of English at the Thai university, demonstration school, or school within the Associated Schools Project (ASP)
  3. Be no more than 29 year of age at the time of application
  4. Have a TOEFL score of at least 213 (computer-based) or 79-80 (IBT)/ 6.0 IELTS, taken within 2 years from the date of application
